After reading many reviews for various DVD players, I selected this Pioneer. I have certainly not been disappointed in the easy set up, simple to use controls and superb performance. The picture quality through HDMI cable to my new LG HDTV is amazing -- very close to blue-ray!

We've owned this DVD player less than a year and it has stopped working. Won't recognize it's connected to the television, and doesn't stay powered on for more than a minute (it slowly loses juice and then fades to off). As the other reviewer said, it worked great until now, but I think it's fair to expect more than a year out of a piece of electronic equipment. Not sure what it will cost to repair, but we're thinking that at a retail price of a little over 0, we should probably just buy a new one. It won't be a PIONEER though!
