dvd player Review
We purchased a 1080i LCD tv and wanted an upgrade on our dvd player to match. We did not need a blu-ray player for the set and this one turned out to be a great choice. It provides a lot of cool options. br /br /There are so many things to love about this player except for the long time it takes to power up. Once you press the power button, it can take up to 1+ minute until it's operational. You have to wait a while after you press the "on" button to see if it worked; otherwise, pressing the power button again only turns the set off and you have to start all over again. If patience is not your strong suit, this could prove to be annoying. br /br /Everything else on this player rocks. Although it does not advertise, this model plays dvds in NTSC and Pal formats which means it can play any region. Wooo Hooo! Also, it does not seem too picky about the condition of the dvd itself. I have a Sony dvd player that gives error messages on any dvd with scratches on it. This one plays anything I throw at it which is good because most library or rental dvds are not in pristine shape. br /br /As to the 1080i upconversion aspect of the player, I cannot see a noticeable difference from our regular dvd player so I'm not sure it's a major deciding point. br /br /I paid a lot less then the price listed so it was a perfect choice and I'll gladly live with the time delay.

Disappointing - A. Verbovikov - Pearland, TX USA
The one I received looks not refurbished; it looks as heavily used. On the top of it there are deep scratches to bare metal.br /Otherwise this is decent cheap DVD player, works as advertised.
Works great with my Big Screen HDTV - Dave -
I have a 50 inch HDTV and DVDs look great on it when they are played out of this player. It makes all the right adjustments, make sure and hook it up with a HDMI cable.
