As the title of this review suggests, don't buy this dvd player if you are looking for quality or ease of use. It worked for the first 8 months. now it refuses to play certain dvd's and others skip and chatter. When it did work it was less than impressive, the dvd takes quite a bit of time to load and even longer to eject. The remote is equally annoying being just a rather small rectangle with tons of generic square buttons that you have to look up close at every time you want to do anything. I am done buying anything made by lg, thanks but no thanks.

Worst DVD Player I've ever had!!!br /We just wanted a simple DVD player didn't care much about the features. After 3 months of normal use it stopped playing select DVDs soon we couldn't get it to work with most of our DVDs. Then it stopped reading the picture information on the DVD so we could get sound but no picture with the few DVD's that it would read. br /We kept the original receipt AND all the packaging but weren't allowed to return it to the store, (RC Willey), and the only option we had was to send it to the manufacturer LG to have it fixed. After only 4 months of normal use it was no longer under warranty for labor. (yeah they could replace the parts for free but the labor going into that replacement was going to cost a lot.) Because fixing it would have cost as much as buying a new DVD player, or more, we junked it and will never buy an LG DVD player agian.br /LG DN898 1080p Upconverting DVD Player [...]
